Maury Ginsberg’s on camera class will demystify the film set and provide real, replicable tools that you can apply in front of the camera.  Actors will develop tools for each shot (establishing, mid, close-up) that inform their bodies, breath and energy.  Perfect for an actor who has acting skills, but lacks on-set experience.

For 20 years, Maury has been teaching acting both in Los Angeles and New York. He is currently a faculty member at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts where he has been part of the film and television program for the last 7 years. As a professional actor, Maury’s stage, film and television credits are extensive. He has had over a 25-year working relationship with Academy Award Winner Olympia Dukakis. Productions with Olympia Dukakis are numerous and include the Cherry Orchard, Mother Courage and The Seagull to name a few. Other theatrical venues have included productions at: Cherry Lane Theatre; Cincinnati Playhouse; The Geffen Playhouse; The Old Globe Theatre; Southcoast Rep; Great Lakes Theatre; Arizona Theatre Company; Philadelphia Theatre Company; Geva Theatre and Pasadena Playhouse to name a few. Other theatre credits include 3 seasons at the  Williamstown Theatre Festival with Arthur Miller, Austin Pendelton, Gerald Freedman, Gwynyth Paltrow, and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman to name a few. His Film and Televison work, spans over a 20 year period including such iconic classics as Friends, Star Trek-Voyager and Law and Order. Recent Television work includes Elementary, Madam Secretary, The Blacklist, Vinyl, Blue Bloods, House of cards, Damages, Louie, The Good Wife,  Law & Order SVU, Unforgettable, among others.  Other film credits include Sundance Winner Rocket Science, directed by Academy Award Nominee Jeffrey Blitz; Big Miracle with Drew Barrymore; The Girl in the Park, with Sigourney Weaver; Lansky, with Richard Dreyfuss; According to Greta, with Hilary Duff and Ellen Burstyn; The Ring with Naomi Watts and most recently starred opposite Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton in the new romantic comedy 5 Flights Up. He is a Graduate of Bard College and student of the late Sanford Meisner and Larry Moss.
