Bio

For 25 years, Maury Ginsberg has taught acting in Los Angeles and New York, and currently serves as a faculty member at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts where he has been part of the film and television program for the last 12 years. As a professional actor, Maury’s stage, film, and television credits are extensive. His work spans over a 30-year period, and includes such iconic TV classics as FriendsStar Trek-Voyager and Law and Order. Recent work includes recurring roles on Manifest and Jessica Jones, as well as in episodes of What We Do in the Shadows, ElementaryMadam SecretaryThe BlacklistVinylBlue BloodsHouse of CardsDamagesLouieThe Good WifeLaw & Order SVU, and Unforgettable. Film credits include Rocket Science (winner-Sundance Dramatic Directing Award) directed by Academy Award Nominee Jeffrey Blitz, Big Miracle with Drew Barrymore, The Girl in the Park with Sigourney Weaver, Lansky with Richard Dreyfuss, According to Greta with Hilary Duff and Ellen Burstyn, The Ring with Naomi Watts, 5 Flights Up with Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton, and The Week Of with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.

He has performed Off Broadway and regionally across the country, including spending three seasons at the Williamstown Theater Festival with such luminaries as Arthur Miller, Gerald Freedman, and Austin Pendleton. Maury has also enjoyed a 30+-year working relationship with Academy Award Winner Olympia Dukakis, having performed with her in productions of The Cherry Orchard and Mother Courage and Her Children, as well as being directed by her in The Seagull (A.T.C.), Drop Dead (Charlotte Rep), and in Do Not Disturb (NJ Theatre Fest). Other regional work includes productions at Pittsburgh Public Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Geffen Playhouse, The Old Globe, South Coast Repertory, Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Arizona Theatre Company, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Geva Theatre Center, Pasadena Playhouse, and many more. 

Maury is a graduate of Bard College and studied with Larry Moss and the late Sanford Meisner.
